5/5 STARS

I’m not sure how Garber did it, but she delivered BIG in this one. .

I loved Tella’s voice and story even more than Scarlett’s. Tella is a force to be reckoned with, and she doesn’t let anything get in the way of what she wants. It was a truly exhilarating ride of twists and turns that I COULD NOT PUT DOWN! Took me mere hours to read.

I loved the real depth that Garber showed us, not only in Tella, but in Dante’s character as well. I also loved that she resolved the issue I had with the last book and I got more background into the world they live in.

The issues that I had in Caraval were definitely not an issue for me in this second book. I felt that the world building was done really well, and we get a better scope and understanding of this world that she has created.

I will admit that the big “reveal” at the end of the book wasn’t a surprise to me. I guessed it while I was reading the first book, but the twist AFTER the “reveal” was epic and I did not see it coming. 😱

Such a good read! 🙌🏼 Highly recommend if you love YA Fantasy.
