Such a cute Historical Fiction/Romance for book lovers.

My Life Next Door by Huntley Fitzpatrick

This was a cute YA romance, with interesting familial themes.

One of Us is Lying by Karen M. McManus

Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine
by Gail Honeyman

This one was just an okay read for me. I didn’t connect with Eleanor’s character at all. She just seemed weird, and maybe that’s the point? I liked the storyline, but just felt her character was all over the place.

Once and for All by Sarah Dessen

This one was alright. Not my favorite Dessen novel. The main character Louna was whiny to me, and I didn’t feel like her and Ambrose had that much chemistry.

Sorcery of Thorns by Margaret Rogerson

One of my absolute favorite books of the year. This YA fantasy is all about magical books, and the libraries and people that protect them. Highly recommend!

House of Salt and Sorrows by Erin A. Craig

This is a wonderful debut novel that is a retelling of the 12 dancing princesses. This is a dark and spooky, but very well-written YA Fantasy. It is a perfect read for the Autumn season, and I look forward to more books from this author.

Symptoms of a Heartbreak by Sona Charaipotra

This was a cute story, but I definitely couldn’t relate to the main character. I did like the teen thrown into the adult world plot. I also really liked the diversity shown in this one. Overall a decent YA Contemporary read.

Little Women by Louisa May Alcott

I guess this is technically a series lol oh well, i’m still including it here. I couldn’t do it. I’m sorry. I love the movies and I loved the version of this that I read as a child, but the full book was just way too boring for me to get through… sorry!

Cupid’s Match by Lauren Palphreyman

Apparently this was a book on Wattpad before it got published. I really enjoyed this one and was immediately hooked and I read it in only a few hours. This is a cute YA Romance about a girl who’s ‘match’ is Cupid, and he has enrolled himself in her High School to meet and get close to her. This book also incorporated mythology which was fun, and I thought it had such a unique premise. Apparently this is also a series (literally just found out as I looked it up on goodreads to get this cover lol)

The Unhoneymooners by Christina Lauren

This was my very first Christina Lauren book, and I absolutely fell in love with it. It was funny, engaging, romantic, and was written so well. Another favorite of the year.

Autoboyography by Christina Lauren

Really loved this Christina Lauren as well. This one is about a boy falling in love with another boy who comes from a very religious family that would disapprove. I especially loved that this was based in a town very close to my hometown, and it was fun to recognize places and themes throughout the book.

The Starless Sea by Erin Morgenstern

Possibly my very favorite read of the year, so I think it is fitting to end this post with this particular book. This was my first read from Morgenstern, but i definitely plan on picking up The Night Circus after this. I am still reeling from this book, and can think of almost nothing else. This book is enchanting, dazzling, mysterious, and slightly confusing in the very best way. If you like magic, mystery, and whimical fantasy then I highly recommend this one!
